Synopsis

The series of informative reports about the succeses of Czech science broadcast between 2005 and 2006 by Czech Television. The cycle was based on the premise that the Czech scientific community could not readily inform the lay public about its work. Every weekday, the series provided a two-minute slot for information from the world of science. The structure of the reports was always silmilar – it introduced a problem that was being tackled by both Czech foreign scientists, then went on to describe the original approach of science. Their topics can be summed up in several areas: Science for life (medicine, health and ecology, science for civilization (applied research and practical inventions), science in profile (introduction to Czech scientific branches which have gained worldwide prestige), science and people (psychology, sociology, linguistics and archeology) and science of the Earth (reaching into the natural sciences and into pure research)
